Build up to 5 Klaviyo draft campaigns from one template

Each row of a spreadsheet, or of the in-browser grid, becomes its own draft Klaviyo campaign with its own content, subject line, preview text and audience.

Step by step

  1. Pick a template. Open Create Campaigns, find a drag-and-drop template and choose Build from this template.
  2. Fill in your campaigns, one of two ways:
    • In the browser: fill in the Prepare Campaigns grid, one row per campaign, dropping images onto each row. Choose Proceed to Review and go to step 5.
    • In a spreadsheet: choose Download CSV & Images for a zip holding a CSV and the template’s current images.
  3. Edit the CSV in Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers. The columns:

  • Row 2 is a label row. Never put campaign data in it.
  • Each row from row 3 is one campaign, up to 5. Extra rows are ignored.
  • A blank cell leaves that part of the template unchanged.
  • An image cell must match an uploaded file’s name (capitalization doesn’t matter): JPG, JPEG, PNG or GIF, up to 5MB.
  • In Excel, save as “CSV UTF-8”.
  1. Upload your folder. Put the CSV and its images in one folder and upload it. Only files at the folder’s top level are read.
  2. Review each campaign. Each row gets its own tab on Review & edit. Pick an audience (at least one list or segment; it’s required and isn’t in the CSV), and edit any text, image or alt text. Copy Desktop → Mobile fills a template’s mobile sections from its desktop ones.
  3. Confirm & Build. Click Confirm & Build on each tab. One campaign builds at a time, and you can keep reviewing other tabs meanwhile. When it’s done, the tab shows View Campaign.
  4. Finish in Klaviyo. Open each campaign, set the sender name and email, replace any placeholder images its result lists, send yourself a test, then schedule or send. Campn never sends anything.

Tips

  • Name image files after their column (for example hero.jpg) so they’re matched automatically.
  • Start each batch from a fresh download, so the columns match the template’s current layout.
  • Build one campaign and check it in Klaviyo before building the rest.

Troubleshooting

  • “This template changed in Klaviyo.” Its layout changed since you last used it, so an older CSV won’t match. Download the CSV & images again, or choose Start over with the current template.
  • A row failed because Klaviyo was busy. Klaviyo limits how fast apps can make requests. Wait a few minutes and click Retry. A failed row made no changes in Klaviyo, so retrying is safe.
  • Grey placeholder images. A template image couldn’t be copied into the campaign. Its result lists each one; swap in the right image in Klaviyo before sending.
  • An image cell is flagged. Its filename matches no uploaded file. It won’t stop the build: the template’s original image is kept unless you pick a different image on Review & edit.
